Passion or Conviction: How do you develop the right product for you?


Now bear this in mind. Tattoo it on your forehead. Never forget it.


Be passionate about your business but do not fall in love with your products. They are distinct and only one part of your business.


Many entrepreneurs  do not see the difference. These are usually the ones whose hearts speak to them louder than their heads. They are driven by passion not conviction. They don’t coldly analyse their niche to find what’s really ‘hurting’ their prospects or indeed what really gives them joy.  They just want to develop a business in THAT niche because they love it.


Well, fine


But these passionate people will never make a bean unless they listen to their heads. Their heads will tell them that, to be successful, they have to narrow down their options. Focus their products on a tightly targeted pain or frustration that their market is suffering. If you have identified several key pain points, then develop one product for each. Just like the Ford Motor Company have a range of cars, you must have a range of products. Each one developed for a specific target audience.


Actually,  the Ford Motor Company go one step further they have a brands based of the demographics and psychographics of one market group to which they add a range of products. Remember that these products use a common lean and mean marketing strategy.


So you must too. One that is packed full of powerful systems and procedures that are proven to not only drive traffic but also boat loads of cash into your bank account.


Just having what you consider to be a killer product won’t cut it. There are a lot, and I mean A Lot [with a capital A and a capital C] of killer products out there gathering dust on some shelf deep in the internet stock cupboard.




Because the product owners, authors in fact, were not up to speed on their marketing skills.
