Which type of Product Launch Manager are you?
- The Deal Maker
- The Creative Genius
- The Team Manger
Well, lets get something straight right out of the box. Everyone is a mixture of all three but one type is dominant.
The Deal Maker is a networker and pitch presenter. He can look a client in the eye in the same way that a sheep-dog can a sheep. He can establish the all important ground rules. He can ensure that the client not only understands how the launch will run but who will run it. A vital task in any successful product launch.
The Creative Genius is the ace marketer and copywriter who comes up with the game changing hooks and lines just like a fly fisherman casting his lure on the river. He draws his prospects together to form a community of raving fans. He has the market in the palm of his hand. He understands the psychological triggers and can play them like a Stradivarius. He is the heart and soul of the launch around whom everyone else revolves.
The Team Manager is the strategist, the forward planner and the launch team coordinator just like a chef. Not just any chef, but one managing a fine dining restaurant kitchen, his team all have their specific roles. Together they operate as a smooth running ‘machine’. It’s tight and efficient. Tested in the heat of a Friday night rush. No fuss, no bother, no unnecessary noise. It works to deliver the highest quality to you the diner.
So which one are you? A sheep dog? A fly fisherman? or A chef?
Me? Well, that’s easy. Using the Groucho Marx method of decision-making, I say… “ I don’t like the first part of the first part nor the last part of the last part so I guess that puts me in the creative role with chef as my second. Afrer all, I trained at the Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Paris so I know my way round a busy kitchen.
A product launch team that is going to flood your shopping cart with a fast flowing river of money has to use this motto “All for one and one for all”
Together they are formidable.
